UK: Burka hospital gowns

I doubt you can get these in the most orthodox Muslim countries. A picture of the gown is available at the link below.

TWO hospitals in north-western England will soon be offering head-to-toe gowns for Muslim women who request for them.

The burqa-style blue gown (right) will be available from 1 Nov for patients of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which operates the Royal Preston and the Chorely and South Ribble hospitals.

The gown was designed by Ms Karen Jacob, linen services manager for the trust.

'I noticed a gap in the market and thought it would be great if there was a gown that helped to preserve a patient's modesty,' she said.

Ms Jacob said the gown could be adapted to show a user's whole face, or to expose only a strip across the eyeline.

The hospitals are believed to be the first in the UK to offer the full-cover gown.- AP.

See Babies of Dutch immigrant women lacking Vitamin D

It would be interesting to find out whether more people are suffering from vitamin D deficiency (from being covered up) as they are from skin cancer (too much sunlight from years of sunbathing/sunburning...)

Anyway... if you want to cover up for modesty or protection from the sun, here is a link for very modest swimsuits:
