Cartoons had been published in Egyptian paper in October

According to Egyptian blogger Egyptian Sandmonkey, the now world famous cartoons of Mohammed were published by the Egyptian paper Al Fagr in October (ie, during the holy month of Ramadan). No editor was sacked and no riots ensued. Pictures of the cartoons can be seen on Sandmonkey's site.

The current edition of Al Fagr features depictions of the prophet throughout the ages.
